After we have received the first fifteen pages of your manuscript for a free sample edit, we will edit the first five pages and offer a critique on all pages submitted. Please send your pages as an email attachment, as we are unable to accept hard-copy sample edits. At that time, we will be able to either confirm or adjust the price per page, depending on the extent of editing needed and the complexity of the manuscript.
International Clients: We will accept your manuscript on a diskette or via e-mail attachment. Our fee for printing the hard copy is $0.08 per page unless you wish on-line editing. We will price the cost of returning the manuscript to you via DHL, International FedEx Priority Mail, or U. S. Global Postal Service and will add it to your final statement.
Format: Please submit all manuscripts using Times Roman or Courier 12-point font (please no fancy formatting or fonts). Text must be double spaced, with a one-inch margin top, bottom, left, and right. Print only on one side of the paper, and number your pages consecutively.
SASE: Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of your disk or manuscript.
We do not receive referral fees for our services nor do we charge reading fees. A-1 Editing Service, LLC is a member of several professional organizations. stories, essays, theses, manuscripts under 10,000 words, or unfinished manuscripts. We do offer a three-page sample edit and a short critique for documents under 25,000 words, and a five-page sample edit and a fifteen-page critique for full-length manuscripts.
We encourage you to email us, via MS Word attachment and in double-spaced format, the first fifteen pages of your completed manuscript (please no random pages or chapters).
We will edit the first five pages electronically using the MS Word tracking system and will offer a critique based on all pages submitted, free of charge. The critique will point out what works, what areas need attention, and how they should be addressed.
